Foodie Tuesday: Bread Baking Workshop in New York City

by Jennifer James

Next Wednesday I will be flying up to New York City for a really unique event with Panera Bread.

Panera Bread will be hosting an amazing bread baking workshop for local New York City bloggers. (Full disclosure: I am helping the event team with parent blogger invitations).

Tom Gumpel, Panera Bread’s Head Baker, former associate dean at the Culinary Institute of America, and Captain of the 1999 U.S. Baking Team that captured the grand prize at the prestigious Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie (World Cup of Baking), will be conducting the intimate baking workshop.

Tom will teach how to bake a traditional-style bread, and given the time of year, he will also bake Panera’s Chocolate Babka holiday bread.

Some of the bloggers who will be at the event are @mominthecity@jenniferperillo, @gaynycdad, @beccasara, @dustyearthmother, @MacaroniKidNYC, @NYSingleMom, and more.

If you are a NYC blogger who writes about food on occasion and would like to attend, contact me and I’ll add you to the list. Space is limited.
