Epson 800: One Quality Printer!

In the past eight years I have had three Epson printers; it's all we ever buy. We like to upgrade whenever we see a new Epson printer that we like. So, imagine my surprise when I was offered the opportunity to review the new Epson 800 courtesy of the One2One Network. I was ecstatic about being able to learn all about its top-notch features, and frankly before I even received the Epson 800 I knew it was going to be one heck of a printer as I am already familiar with Epson's quality.

I don't want to bog you down with all of the techie details that you can find here. I want to tell you how the printer has worked for my family. First, it's an all-in-one, so you can print, scan, and copy with this one unit. An all-in-one unit is a must-have these days, especially with everything you can do with digital photos. The print quality is magnificent. When you print photos the details are crisp and there is no smudging.

What I particularly like about the Epson 800 is the tilt touchscreen on the front of the printer. It makes finding commands extremely simple, no hunting around to figure out how to scan a document or make a simple copy. The Epson 800 also has two paper trays and can easily print two-sided copies. I'm pretty big on two-sided copies to help save on paper and waste, so that feature is nice to have in a printer. Printing speed is also quite quick with the Epson 800. And when you don't necessarily need a high-quality print you can always set it to do a quick print with lighter ink quality. I do this often to save ink and it works perfectly.

The thing I like most about the Epson 800, however, is the way they handle the ink situation. I call it an "ink situation" because I hate having to buy ink cartridges all of the time. It makes having a printer expensive, a pain, and a burden. With Epson printers, however, you don't have to replace the entire cartridge when one color gets low, you just have to replace that one color. Brilliant! That saves you money in the long run. And, when the ink gets low, the printer always prompts you to buy more ink with a direct link to the Epson web site where they always offer a discount such as free shipping when you order more.

And finally, one of the qualities about the Epson 800 is that it can handle professional printing jobs as well as family printing such as holiday greeting cards and everyday printing. So, it's prefect if you have a home-based business or if you just need it to make Christmas cards each holiday season.

A Printing Workhorse

We are super impressed with the Epson RX595 Photo All-In-One Printer In fact, it's so great, we really don't have enough space to tell you about all the many fabulous features of the Epson RX595, so we'll mentioned what we like the most.

First, you can easily print, scan and copy from this one unit, and if that's not enough, you can also print directly from your cell phone (with the Bluetooth adapter), digital camera, as well as from your USB flash drive. The photo quality is top notch and the Claria(TM) Hi-Definition Ink does not smudge. We know how important this is to moms, especially when our little ones like to pull our prints out of the printer with wet, grimy hands.

Here's a feature that we really like: the RX595 requires the use of individual six-color ink cartridges, so over time you only need to replace the colors that need changing, not the whole cartridge. Very smart!

We appreciate the print speed of the RX595 as well. 4" x 6" photos print in about 21 seconds. And, the quality! The RX595 gives professional print jobs a real run for their money through impressive technology such as Auto Photo Correction.

While we know the Epson RX595 will be a great addition to any family who likes to take and print pictures, or for any mom who is big on scrap booking, there is only one thing we did not like. The printer does not come equipped with a USB cord, so make sure to buy your own in order to attach the printer to your computer. It is important to note, however, that the Epson RX595 is fully functional with or without a computer.
