Prince's First Authorized Book, 21 Nights
Wednesday, October 1, 2008
I am so unashamed to say I am a huge Prince fan and have been since I saw him in his infamous video for Kiss. There was something mesmerizing about that video when I was a kid. Ever since then I've been a fan.Prince, though teetering on being a little weird, especially after reading his latest interview in USA Today, has always defined life on his own terms. That, folks, is addictive and the reason why I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of 21 Nights.
Last year Prince played 21 straight sold-out nights in London. This book chronicles it all in 124 full-color pages. While Prince was once a bona fide wild child, he has grown to be a man of serious faith and principles. I really like him more now than ever because he continues to knock the music industry on its heels with innovative ways to distribute his music. In fact, there is a CD of some of his after-show sessions that comes along with the book.
Prince has always been a true maverick, from when he scrawled "slave" on his face in a heated battle with Warner Brothers to his oft-publicized squabbles with violators of his copyright and his brand. In other words, Prince does not play around with who he is and the money he makes. I just wish he would vote. Read the USA Today article to see what I'm saying. Buy 21 Nights
