The Lollipop Book Club
Friday, October 3, 2008
When I was a kid my mother bought my brothers and me a ton of books through the Weekly Reader book club. I can still remember it as if it were yesterday. The books arrived every month and I would sit on my bedroom floor and pore through them and then go back and re-read the books I already had. It was pure magic. And that's undoubtedly why my girls have tons of books of their own. Education and literacy are a time-honored tradition in our family and it all starts with books. If you would like to give your children or a child you know the gift of books, give the Lollipop Book Club a try. The Lollipop Book Club is a very creative and appealing idea for getting children engaged in reading. Plus, it allows parents to give a gift to a child that is not always a toy or electronics.
Go to lollipopbookclub.com and pick out a book you would like to send to a child. All of the books are categorized by age to make choosing age appropriate books a cinch. They also have a nice selection of award-winning books to choose from. Each book comes in a bright red package with a personalized note and a lollipop on top. Genius! -Jennifer James, Editor
